A 40pp single colour booklet accompanying Ruth Ewan’s installation ‘How to Make Archway Tower Disappear’, on Holloway Road.

Ruth installed a beautiful cast-iron end-of-the-pier style viewer, looking up the Holloway Road towards Archway Tower. The tower is a bold chunk with a varied history and having at one time been the place to collect your DHSS, has played a part in many local people’s lives. Yet it remains a controversial presence, and the viewer’s role was to erase the tower form the skyline.

Ruth developed ‘subtracted reality’ software in conjunction with Inition which momentarily removed the tower from view.

The booklet presents a collection of local people’s accounts, stories articles and images relating to Archway Tower, including contributions from New Model Army and Jeremy Corbyn.
